LwM2M (Light Weight M2M)
OMA LwM2M was developed to overcome low-end device and bandwidth limitations of existing DM protocols such as OMA DM, TR-069, SNMP, and more within IoT environment LwM2M is developed based on CoAP and UDP to enable IoT device management, firmware updates, positioning, remote control, and device security.
While OMA DM is suitable for smartphone, mobile modem, and connected car, OMA LwM2M is suitable for constrained devices such as IoT devices.

FOTA Firmware Over The Air
Firmware over-the-air technology empowers firmware/software updates of the device by resolving issues with low-bandwidth and high packet costs of mobile services Rather than downloading whole firmware/software packet, only the smallest delta files are generated from the new version and the original version of the firmware/software for an update.
FOTA technology is most widely used for updating F/W binary file, high-volumed map file, audio files for smart phones, Connected Car, and AVN (Audio Video Navigation) Size of the delta file generated between two version can be reduced up to 0 01% of the original version which reduces cost of mobile data usage and time it takes to update.
